Savusavu
Known as 'The Hidden Paradise', Savusavu is a sleepy little town located on the southeast side of the island of Vanua Levu. Savusavu is the central business center of this side of the island with a p opulation of 5000 residence with a daily in flux of another 2500. A perfect place to watch the sunset over the water with a cold drink in hand.
Savusavu has two supermarkets in Morris Hedstrom (MH) (Yes, they have two!). There are also several hardware stores, as well as some clothing and video stores. Located in the center of town is the larg e farmers market where fresh fruits and veggies and can be purchased.
Savusavu also has a few restaurants catering to tourists such as Savusavu Wok, Bula Re, Captains Cafe, Hidden Paradise and several curry houses.
Banks and ATMS are easily accessible in Savusavu. There are 3 banks in Savusavu, ANZ, Westpac, and Colonial. All three have cash machines and are open Monday thru Friday .

For cold drinks and warm smiles there is a plethora of options. The Savusavu Yacht Club is a quiet place that serves as a temporary home for the many 'yachties' in town. The Planters Club is a private club that is more than happy to serve 'bona-fide' visitors! For a more local crowd, check out the Wai Tui Marina located opposite one of the Morris Hedstrom Supermarkets.
Something to remember about Savusavu, during the week the town is basically closed by 4:00pm, Saturday the town is closed by 1:00pm and Sunday Savusavu is just plain closed. So plan accordingly.
